Alabama snags top Class of 2014 OT away from LSU

Cameron Robinson, who grew up an LSU fan and attends LSU pipeline West Monroe High School (West Monroe, LA), chose to play his college football at Alabama instead of with the Tigers, the offensive lineman announced at a press conference on ESPNU Wednesday afternoon.
The 6-5, 330-pounder, who is arguably the best offensive tackle in the Class of 2014, is very adept at both pass protection and run blocking. The son of former NFL and Louisiana-Monroe linebacker Steve Foley, Robinson will head to Tuscaloosa to play with good friend Cameron Sims, a wide receiver who recently gave his verbal pledge to the Tide as well.
Robinson, who visited Tuscaloosa twice since April, plans to graduate high school in December and enroll at Alabama in January. His commitment gives the Tide what appears to currently be the best Class of 2014 in the country.
Of course, LSU will likely do whatever it can to flip Robinson before National Signing Day in February. But Nick Saban has landed a top Louisiana recruit before, as he landed Landon Collins in 2012.
